Don’t let the names confuse you. Underbelly is the name of the organisation that is running the events, and Udderbelly is the name of the venue which will be hosting a variety of performances until July 19.

Five reasons to watch a show inside a big purple cow:

  1. You will be watching shows inside a giant, purple, upside-down cow which has been grazing in the pastures of Edinburgh since 2006 and has been a remarkably popular venue at the Edinburgh Festival.
  2. The kids don’t have school anymore – and if you’re looking for ways to keep them entertained, then the “Little Mermaid” play is just one of the many things they will enjoy. Let’s not forget they will love being inside a cow.
  3. See American icon, host and comedian Joan Rivers in her new show called “Unplugged and Uncensored”.
  4. If you like beat-boxing, or an entertaining circus, or simply want to see gravity being defied, then the ‘Tom Tom’ crew is for you.
  5. Summer is finally here and you must celebrate.
